چکیده

A simple and pump-free chemiluminescence immunoassay based on a compact disc (CD)-type microfluidic platform for the determination of alkylphenol polyethoxylates (APnEOs) is described. The method is based on a competitive immunoreaction of the antiAPnEOs antibody immobilized on the magnetic microbeads between APnEOs and horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-labeled APnEOs in the sample solution. The luminol solution containing H2O2 and enhancer is caused to flow from one reservoir in the platform to another by appropriate adjustment of the speed of the rotation of the disc. The detection limit was similar to that reported in our previous paper, i.e., 10 ppb according to IC80.

Fully Automated Quantification of Insulin Concentration Using a Microfluidic-Based Chemiluminescence Immunoassay.

A fully automated microfluidic-based detection system for the rapid determination of insulin concentration through a chemiluminescence immunoassay has been developed. The microfluidic chip used in the system is a double-layered polydimethylsiloxane device embedded with interconnecting micropumps, microvalves, and a micromixer. At a high injection rate of the developing solution, the chemilumine...

A microfluidic immunoassay platform for the detection of free prostate specific antigen: a systematic and quantitative approach.

As a leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men globally, prostate cancer (PCa) demands immense attention for theranostic purposes. There is an increasing need for the development of rapid, sensitive, economical, miniaturized and multiplexable assays. Towards this goal, we present a systematic approach for the optimisation of a microfluidic sandwich immunoassay, which can be applied as a gen...

Introducing chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer into immunoassay in a microfluidic format for an improved assay sensitivity.

We report on a novel strategy to improve microfluidic immunoassay sensitivity by introducing chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer (CRET) into the immunoreactions. The proposed CRET-based immunoassay for estradiol (E2, as a model analyte) is one of the most sensitive immunoassay with a limit of detection at 3.6 × 10(-11) M E2 in a microfluidic format.

Lab on a CD.

In this paper, centrifuge-based microfluidic platforms are reviewed and compared with other popular microfluidic propulsion methods. The underlying physical principles of centrifugal pumping in microfluidic systems are presented and the various centrifuge fluidic functions, such as valving, decanting, calibration, mixing, metering, heating, sample splitting, and separation, are introduced. Thos...

Sequential Push-Pull Pumping Mechanism for Washing and Evacuation of an Immunoassay Reaction Chamber on a Microfluidic CD Platform

A centrifugal compact disc (CD) microfluidic platform with reservoirs, micro-channels, and valves can be employed for implementing a complete immunoassay. Detection or biosensor chambers are either coated for immuno-interaction or a biosensor chip is inserted in them. On microfluidic CDs featuring such multi-step chemical/biological processes, the biosensor chamber must be repeatedly filled wit...
